“Evening in Cairo” is one of the most beautiful and mysterious paintings, famous all over the world, by painter Ivan Aivazovsky, written in 1870. It can rightly be called an artistic masterpiece that has no analogues in the whole world. On his canvas, the author depicted a panoramic view of the most spectacular and legendary places in Cairo, from the elevation in the east, ending with the pyramids of Giza.
The plot of the canvas takes place at pre-sunset hour, filled with magical charm. The sun going beyond the horizon paints the sky with honey-pink colors. Just a little and the city will plunge into twilight, the sky gradually began to darken.
In the foreground of the picture, the viewer is offered a view of the house, made in the Egyptian style. A flat roof and small windows protect its inhabitants from the heat that is familiar to the climate of these places. The spacious stone square around the building is dotted with locals in bright traditional dresses. Each of them is busy with something simple and ordinary that the viewer involuntarily enters the atmosphere of immersion. In the middle of the square, young girls catch the eyes of passers-by with their dances.
If you look a little further, the viewer will enjoy a view of Cairo in great detail. Lots of buildings; residential buildings, cathedrals and towers are shrouded in lilac haze. Lush green trees and spreading palm trees complement all this splendor.
Landscapes created by Aivazovsky amaze with their realism and take the breath of even the most sophisticated viewer. The author was able to masterfully depict not only the most picturesque places on the planet. People looking at his paintings can feel the wind, the warmth of the air, the fragrance of plants and even hear the splash of water, thanks to his unique manner of performance. This is probably why Aivazovsky’s paintings are considered priceless.
